Native Forward: Native American Scholarships
MISSION
Provide financial support for American Indians and Alaska Natives seeking higher education and support them in obtaining undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees. We partner with Tribes, the federal government, foundations, corporations, and individuals to ensure the growth and sustainability of scholarships.
Native Forward Scholars Fund is the largest direct scholarship provider to Native students in the U.S. We award approximately $15 million in scholarships annually and have awarded over $350 million since our inception.
Throughout our 50-year history, Native Forward Scholars Fund has empowered over 20,000 students from over 500 Tribes in all 50 states by providing scholarship dollars and support services for undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees.
COCA COLA Scholarship – Deadline September 30, 2024
The Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to students in their final year of high school. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. With the 36th class in 2024, the Foundation has provided over 6,900 Coca-Cola Scholars with more than $84 million in educational support. 150 Coca-Cola Scholars are selected each year to receive this $20,000 scholarship.
DANIELS SCHOLARSHIP – Deadline October 18th
The NMAA Foundation is excited to announce a continued partnership with a non-profit organization that provides scholarships to graduating seniors here in New Mexico. This relationship is with the Daniels Fund and we hope that you will pass this on to your coaches, counselors, and fellow administrators so that students across our state can be made aware of this great opportunity.
Applications for the Daniels Scholarship Program are now open and we need your help getting the word out to high school seniors in your community!
The Daniels Scholarship Program makes college possible for motivated students from New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming. Scholarships cover a full ride at partner schools or up to $100,000 depending on the student’s college choice. Daniels Scholars can attend any college nationwide and receive more than just financial support — they also gain leadership skills, personal support, and a brand new MacBook!
The application for the Daniels Scholarship Program will be open from September 16 through October 18, 2024 at 4:00 pm MTand typically takes students less than one hour to complete.

Zombie Apocalypse Scholarship – Deadline: October 31, 2024
Hone your survival tactics and imagine what your school or college campus might be like in a zombie apocalypse. Our Zombie Apocalypse Scholarship committee wants to know your plan to avoid the zombies, where you’d hide, and the top-five things you’d bring to stay alive.
We’re giving one successful survivor $2,000 towards his or her college education. Do you think you have what it takes to make the cut?
Applicants must:
Must be 14 years of age or older at time of application.| Must be a legal U.S. resident.| Must be a resident of one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia.| This award is for U.S. students.
Submit an online written response to the question:
“Imagine that your high school or college has been overrun with zombies. Your math professor, the cafeteria ladies, and even your best friend have all joined the walking dead. Flesh out a plan to avoid the zombies, including where you’d hide and the top-five things you’d bring to stay alive.” (250 words or less)
The Zombie Apocalypse Scholarship winner will be notified by email or phone on or around Jan 31st.
Chick-fil-a Community Scholars Scholarship – Deadline: October 30th @ 3:00 pm CT
Every year, at least twelve (12) $25,000 scholarships are awarded to students based on academic success, community service and financial need. The Chick-fil-A Community Scholars also participate in the Chick-fil-A Scholars Program, a one-year engagement that includes mentoring and leadership development alongside our Chick-fil-A True Inspiration™ Scholars. Through this program, we recognize remarkable individuals who share our dedication to caring for others and caring for their communities. It is our pleasure to support the academic journeys of these future leaders.
To apply to become a 2025 Chick-fil-A Community Scholar, you must:
- Be a resident in the United States, Puerto Rico or Canada.
- Be a postsecondary undergraduate or graduate student or planning to enroll in undergraduate or graduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the 2025-2026 academic year.
- Be recommended by a teacher, coach, community leader or mentor, addressing the applicant’s personal and/or professional achievement. Up to three recommendation letters will be accepted.
- Show demonstrated care through community-service in the twelve (12) months prior to application. You will be asked to share in what ways you were able to make an impact on your community, friends and family.
- Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent). Academic awards and recognition will be considered. Applicants are required to upload a transcript that displays their name, school name, classes taken and GPA.
- Demonstrate financial need.
- Not be employed at a Chick-fil-A® restaurant or Chick-fil-A, Inc. at the time of application or the dependent or spouse of a Chick-fil-A, Inc. Employee or Operator.
