Today was the final day of the Youth Conference at Thoreau Middle School. To wrap up the fun, students enjoyed a lively band performance and had a talent show. Students, volunteers, and staff all took the stage to showcase their skills. We enjoyed singing, stand-up comedy, dancing, and instrumental performances.

We are so proud of our students for their participation. They made the event entertaining for everyone, and our talented winners were recognized with prizes for their outstanding performances! Thank you to everyone who shared their time and effort to make this conference possible. Opportunities like this leave a lasting impact on our students. They are all looking forward to next year!

Thoreau Middle School is having its 2026 Youth Conference! Students have been enjoying activities such as Taekwondo, mask making, cooking, meditation, dancing, and more! This conference provides a safe and supportive space for students to connect, explore ideas, and participate in activities that promote wellness, cultural pride, and positive decision-making. Thank you to INLA for this partnership and for providing our students with the opportunity to recognize their personal strengths and receive support in relationship-building.

We have come to the end of our district showcases with today's School of Business Showcase!
Students gave colorful, clear business presentations. Your branded materials, like stickers and pins, really elevated each business identity. Great work representing your schools and showing what young entrepreneurship looks like in action.
We also announced the winners of our Food Truck Cook Off! Congratulations to Ramah High School for winning first place with the Mustang Burger Company. Our runner-up was Miyamura, and Tohatchi High School placed third. Fantastic job to all our participating students! The future of food trucks is in great hands!

Lincoln Elementary's Community Block Party was a hit! We are very proud of the National Elementary Honor Society students for organizing this event. Students showcased reports on the history of Chihuahuita, handed out summer reading practice booklets, and held open sign-ups for NEHS. Through these activities, students demonstrated leadership, professionalism, and a strong commitment to serving their community.
Thank you to SFE for providing food during the party.

Tohatchi Middle School Career Day: A Tremendous Success!

We are delighted to share the wonderful success of Tohatchi Middle School's Career Day event! Our 7th and 8th grade students had an extraordinary opportunity to explore diverse career paths and connect with professionals from our community. Career Day provides our students with valuable real-world insights into various professions, helping them envision their futures and understand the diverse opportunities available to them. Through direct engagement with community leaders and professionals, students gain inspiration, knowledge, and practical perspective on their potential career paths. In Attendance were McKinley County Sheriff's Department, Diné College, Behavioral Health, Ch'ooshgai Fire Department, Navajo Technical University (NTU), Army, National Guard Recruiters, Equine Science Presenter, Navajo Scholarship Office, Navajo Nation Veterinary Program, featuring alumnus Dr. David Manuelito. Our 7th and 8th grade students engaged enthusiastically with each presenter, asking thoughtful questions and demonstrating genuine curiosity about the careers presented. The energy and engagement throughout the day was truly inspiring!
